FAQs

01 ABOUT JUTE

Jute is a long, soft, shiny, versatile vegetable fibre that can be spun into strong and fine yarn. It belongs to the genus Corchorus, family Malvaceae. Found in abundance in India, jute has the potential to be a substitute for more expensive fibres and scarce forest resources.

Broadly, jute can be classified into three varieties: Tossa Jute (Corchorus olitorius), White Jute (Corchorus capsularis) and Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus).

Jute is increasingly used in horticulture, construction and civil works, home décor, fashion and lifestyle, food packaging, sports, and other industries. It is a natural, sturdy alternative to synthetic fibres, and is often preferred for its biodegradable nature.

As a biodegradable fibre, jute has a smaller carbon footprint than plastic. Plastic is non-biodegradable and remains in the environment for a much longer period, polluting water and the soil. Jute, apart from being eco-friendly, has a silky lustre with high tensile strength and low extensibility. It also has heat- and fire-retardant properties.

Natural jute is golden-brown in colour, but it can be dyed into different colours depending on your requirements and design choices.

We will send you the consignment by your preferred mode of shipping. There are three options available to you.
By Sea: This is a cost-effective mode of shipping. It is not suitable for small quantities like 300/500 pieces. The shipping time is approximately 4 to 6 weeks, depending on your location.
By Air: While more expensive than sea, this is a faster mode of shipping suitable for urgent orders. The shipping time is approximately 5 to 6 days.
By Courier: This is the most expensive option, but is better suited to smaller orders as you won’t have to maintain customs processes in your country. With this method (DDU), you can get goods at your door within 5 to 6 business days of despatch.

● Our production lead time is 35 – 40 days for the first 20’ FCL after approval of sample.
